The Paul Außerleitner Ski Jump in Bischofshofen

The Paul Außerleitner Ski Jump in Bischofshofen is named after the Austrian Ski Jumper Paul Außerleitner. The athlete, who was with the ski club Bischofshofen, crashed severely on the 5th of January 1952 and died of his injuries a few days later. The ski jump is one of the biggest jumps in FIS Ski Jump World Cup, with a Hill Size of 142 and a record of 143,5 meter. The original Naturschanze from 1947 was constantly rebuilt over the last decades and finally received a completely new profile with a jump-off platform made from reinforced concrete 2003. Each year at the big final of the Four Hills Tournament the Paul Außerleitner Ski Jump is located inside the Sepp-Bradl-Stadium, which is named after the first tournament champion, Sepp "Buwi" Brandl.
