  • Noriaki Kasai made his debut with a 27th place at the FIS World Cup on the 3rd of December 1989 in Thunder Bay (CAN)
  • on the 29th of February 1992 during the World Cup in Lathi he was on the podium for the first time, with a 3rd place
  • about a month later he became Ski Flying World Champion in Harrachov (CZE), simultaneously this success is also his first World Cup win
  • the next big win came in 1994, when he won the silver medal in the team competition at the Olympic Games in Lillehammer
  • he won silver with the team at the Nordic World Cup in 1999 in Ramsau (AUT)
  • he won silver with the team again at the World Cup in Val di Fiemme (ITA) 2003 as well as bronze in the individual competition (large and normal hill)
  • Kasai won World Cup bronze with the team in 2007 and 2009
  • at 41 years old he became the oldest champion in the World Cup when he won Ski Flying competition in Bad Mitterndorf on the 11th of January 2014
  • he won silver on the large hill at the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014 and bronze with the team. That made him the the oldest medal winner in the history of Ski Jumping at the age of 41
  • he won bronze in the mixed-team competition at the World Cup in Falun (SWE) 2015
  • he was honoured at the 500th World Cup start on the 17th of March 2016
