Wellinger (GER) and Forfang (NOR) make the season finale exciting. Kubacki (POL) wins the Summer Grand Prix and creates a historical.

Dawid Kubacki wins the Summer Grand Prix 2017. The pole also wins the season final and did something unique in the ski jumping history: Never before a springer was able to manage to remain unbeaten in this competition. In Klingenthal, the 27-year-old made the fifth win at the fifth appearance and was at the end on the top of the overall standings. Kubacki won ahead of the German Andreas Wellinger and Johann Andre Forfang from Norway.

A number of famous names follow behind: the Norwegians Daniel Andre Tande on four, Robert Johansson on nine and Andres Fannemel on ten completed the strong team result of the Scandinavians. With Gregor Schlierenzauer on the fifth place and Stefan Kraft on eight Austria could be satisfied as well. Simon Ammann (SUI) finished sixth.

With 500 points the Pole finishes the Summer Grand Prix ahead of Anze Lanisek (SLO, 353) and the Japanese Junshiro Kobayashi (332).

Kubacki brought himself a trophy he did not expect at the beginning of the season. As he told the Four Hills Tournament in an interview, he wants to attack this winter to fight for the positions.
