2017-07-10 · 11:00

Changes will be tested during the Summer Grand Prix. The most important reforms are regarding the qualifications.

At a meeting in the Slovenian Portoroz the International Ski Federation (FIS) decided on a few rule changes before the start into the summer season. The biggest change in the catalogue of rules will be regarding the qualifying rounds. These will be mandatory for all jumpers from now on. That means: in the new mode there would be no prequalified athletes anymore, even the top ten of the overall ranking would have to take part in the elimination round.

Wether the changes, which additionally include a few minor adjustments regarding material,  will be applied to the World Cup season as well is not sure at this moment. So far the new rules will be tested at the Summer Grand Prix before a final decision will be made in the fall.
