Oberstdorf

Kobayashi back on top

2019-02-02 · 17:50

After some setbacks the reigning 4 hills champion has won the second ski flying competiton of Oberstdorf. But things were pretty tight.

Markus Eisenbichler from Germany, third after the first round, showed an amazing flight to 237,5 meters – only one meter less than the hill record held by Daniel-André Tande. Next to show his performance was Piotr Zyla but he was not able to compete with Eisenbichler on this day and ended up on the unlucky position four. So there remained only one person to beat Eisenbichler – Kobayashi. And he showed his calm in the same way he did during the Tournament. 234 meters were less than Eisenbichler but in addition to the Japane's better first jump there was still an advantage of 0,5 points to get the win of the day. Third place went to Stefan Kraft from Austria.
