Dawid Kubacki has won the qualification of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The Polish outscored world cup leader Ryoyu Kobayashi who showed an amazing flight but could not do his telemark. Title defender Kamil Stoch secured 3rd position.
With the likes of Kubacki and Stoch on the qualification podium, the Polish could more easily digest the fall of Maciej Kot who did not make it through to Tuesday’s competition. The mood in Team Slovenia, on the other hand, is probably a dark one on this New Year’s Eve: Neither Peter nor his brother Domen Prevc earned the right to take part in the first round. The only bright spot of the team remains Timi Zacj (9th in quali).
A nice surprise for the audience who did not let a few rain drops get in their way to celebrate a ski jumping party: Noriaki Kasai showed one of his best performances lately and easily made it to the new round.go back
